Edna R. Burton

DOYLESTOWN – Edna R. Burton, age 80, passed away on April 22, 2025.

Born on June 28, 1944 in Barberton, OH to the late Tobias and Nellie (Myer) Thomay, she was a resident of Doylestown since 1958.  Obtaining her Master’s Degree in computer programming, she had retired from Westfield Insurance Co. as a Cobalt Programmer after 14 years of service and then went on to work for JoAnn Fabrics for 11 years.  A member of the Doylestown United Methodist Church and later Crossroads Community Church, Edna was very active in her community and family.  She worked for the Wayne County Board of Elections for many years, was a scorekeeper for Chippewa boys and girls basketball for 45 years, was a member of the Chippewa All Sports Boosters, and still had time to enjoy sewing, quilting, crafts, and family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her great grandson, Drew.  She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harvey; sons, Brad (Jodie) Burton of Suffield, Twp., Joshua (Sarah) Burton of Fredericktown, OH; grandchildren, Steve Burton, Kate (Andy) Howell, Jeremiah Stone, Kyla Stone, Arabella Burton; great grandchildren, Xavier, Katelyn, Lincoln, Jaxon, and Paisley; brother, James (Laura) Thomay; sister, Micki Wersiman.
