Eugene "Gene" F. Hummel

DOYLESTOWN – Eugene “Gene” F. Hummel, age 82, passed away on February 25, 2021 at his home surrounded by family.

Born on October 16, 1938 in Barberton, OH to the late George and Frances (Polk) Hummel, he was a resident of Doylestown since 2005, previously of Barberton.  Gene was owner and operator of Hummel Realty, and had worked as a broker for various realtors.  He also practiced as a licensed Homeopathic Doctor for over 30 years.  His passion was in the martial arts.  He held a 2nd degree Black Belt in Kwan Wing Do style (which means way of the honorable man) and was owner of Ho Sing Martial Arts School in Kent, OH.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Helen; son, Duane Hummel; sister, Miriam Dannemiller; brother, Robert “Bob” Hummel, he is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dixie; step-son, Frank (Sally) Miller of FL; two step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Mandy Hummel of TN; sisters, Marie “Ricki” (Jim) Bebesi, Francie (Joe) Casto all of Marshallville; brothers in-law, Mike Dannemiller of Doylestown, Allen (Karen) Rittmann of Ravenna; sister in-law, Linda Hummel of Doylestown; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 8th, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 161 W. Clinton St., Doylestown, OH, 44230 with Gene’s close friend, Fr. Mike Colletti, Celebrant.  Inurnment will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.  Family to receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or any local hospice program.
