George A. Conkle Jr.

Canal Fulton - George Albert Conkle Jr., passed away on April 8, 2026 at the age of 67.

A resident of Canal Fulton, George was a graduate of Chippewa High School and Wayne County Joint Vocational School.

He was employed for many years at Camp’s Auto Salvage, but he will be best remembered as the owner of Oser’s Dairy and Deli for over 20 years, where he became a cherished and loved member of the community. George was a member of the Automotive Technical Association for 30 years and had a passion for Ford Mustangs and trucks. Serving as a Pit Crew Member for Tim Wilkerson Racing and John Force Racing, he was an avid fan of Drag Racing and was a constant attendee of racing events nationwide.

George loved Rock and Roll music, Pink Panther, tractor pulls at the Wayne County Fair and delighted in cooking for friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Lillian Conkle; brother-in-law, William Close, and sister-in-law, Linda Conkle. He is survived by daughter, Isabell Conkle of Canal Fulton, siblings, Leslie Close of Doylestown, Diane and Frank Goodwill of Holmesville, Trudi and Tim Baker of Norton, Paula Conkle of Akron, Kurtis and Linda Conkle of Marshallville, and Richard Conkle of Ashland; a grandchild, stepchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A family open house will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at his sister, Trudy Bakers home at 4667 Rockcut Rd., Norton, OH, 44203 from 3:30 to 6:30 PM. Rebecca Arnold will officiate a service at 3:30.
