George A. Horton Jr.

DOYLESTOWN – George A. Horton Jr., age 80, passed away on November 19, 2021 surrounded by family.

Born on June 20, 1941 in Warren, OH to the late George A. Sr. and Mildred (George) Horton, he was a resident of Doylestown since 1985. George retired from Carpenters Local #639, working for various construction companies. He had a passion for cars and loved to travel and spend time with his family.

Preceded in death by his parents; infant great granddaughter, Juliette Mealey, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Alma; daughter, Tracy (Jeff) Data of Wadsworth; son, George A. III (Michelle) Horton of Wadsworth; grandchildren, Ashley (Dave) Krantz, Nicholas (Megan) Mealey, Taylor (Tim) Rose, A.J. Shannon (fiancée, Alex Bragg), Alyssa Horton (fiancé, Leo Orlando), Julia Horton; great grandchildren, Nolan, Paxton, Weston, Adison and Drew.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassionate and loving care of George in his final weeks.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH 44230 with Chaplain Tim Jensen, officiating. Burial to take place at Hillside Memorial Park.
