Georgianne Martinez

WALTERBORO, SC – Georgianne Martinez, age 76, passed away on May 15, 2019.

Born on September 11, 1942 in Akron, OH she was a resident of Walterboro, SC for over 30 years, previously of Greeley CO.  Georgianne retired as a teacher’s aide with the Colleton County Public Schools after many years of service.  She enjoyed crocheting and embroidering, and taking many of her projects to the Colleton Medical center where she volunteered.  A member of Refuge Church in Walterboro, she loved to work in her yard, square dance, spend time with her friends, and was an active member of the local PEP Club.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George Miller and Mary (Camden) Miller-Glunt; step father, James Glunt; husband, Armando P. Martinez, and sister, Beverly Hicks. Georgianne is survived by her children, Brenda S. Hall of Deerfield, OH, Chandra R. Adams of Magnolia, TX, Daniel H. Adams, Andrew W. Adams, both of Wooster, OH, Isaiah G. (Doris) Martinez of VA, Armando J. (Ashley) Martinez of VA; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; niece, Debra Sviderskas; nephews, Michael and David McKee; special friends, Sister Mary Felice, Cathy First, Sue Hogan; other family and many friends.

Funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 12 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH, 44230 with Pastor Freddie Rodriguez, officiating.  Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron, OH.  Calling hours will be 10:30 a.m. until time of service.  Memorials may be made to Refuge Church, 203 Eddie Chasteen Dr., Walterboro, SC, 29488.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
