Gordon J. "Jerry" Bailey

DOYLESTOWN – Gordon J. “Jerry” Bailey, age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 21, 2023.

Born on July 10, 1940 in Bear Lake, PA to the late Glenn and Doris (Baccus) Bailey, he was a resident of Doylestown since 1961.  Starting his career at B.F. Goodrich and following his passion for entrepreneurship at the same time, Jerry started Bailey Roofing in 1963.  He then became co-owner of Bailey and Weidner Sand and Gravel but always came back to what is now a third-generation family-owned roofing business.  In 2003 he partnered with his son to create B&B Supply.  He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, devoted to his family and enjoyed going on group trips with family and friends to various casinos throughout the country. His greatest love was his grandsons and attending as many of their events as possible. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn (Russell) Mitchell; brother in-law, Darles Butzer.  He is survived by his beloved wife Evelyn; son, Jeff (Tracy) Bailey of Doylestown; daughter, Cheryl Bailey of St. Joseph, MI; grandsons, Connor, Zachary, and Spencer; brother, Dr. Norman (Joanne) Bailey of Clymer, NY; sister, Alice (Jim) Weidner of Fuquay-Varina, NC; brother in-law, Randall (Marlys) Zeigler of Marshallville; sister in-law, Joyce Butzer of Marshallville; other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH, 44230 with Pastor Bob Stevens, officiating. Burial to take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Marshallville. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
