DOYLESTOWN – James H. Bradenburg, age 102, passed away on November 5, 2023.
Born on May 14, 1921 in McDonald, PA to the late Frank E. and Jean (Brown) Bradenburg, Jim had been a resident of Doylestown for 47 years. After graduating from Canonsburg High School in Canonsburg, PA, Jim went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Washington Jefferson College in Washington, PA. and two weeks later was a1st lieutenant in the U.S. Navy serving in World War II. He retired at the age of 75 from Weather Seal and Ettling Window. Jim was a member of Doylestown United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School and was a life member of the Doylestown Lions Club where he was awarded a Melvin Jones Fellowship. He also was a former member of the Doylestown VFW.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Katherine; brother, Ernest E. Bradenburg; and sister, Dorothy (Eugene) Klee. Jim is survived by his children, Janet (John) Morris of Doylestown, James M. (Patricia) Bradenburg of Delaware, Frank E. Bradenburg (Chris Casey) of Wooster; grandchildren, John (Julia) Morris, Joseph (Danielle) Morris, Katie (Adam) Zippel, Mary Beth Bradenburg and husband Michael Cordova, Angela Tucker (Rich Zion); great grandchildren, Evan, Dillon, Savannah, James, Olivia, Everett, Mikaylee, Adrionna, Nikolai, and one on the way; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral service will be Monday, November 13, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Doylestown United Methodist Church, 153 Church St., Doylestown, OH, 44230 with Pastor Carolyn Berry officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH and one hour prior to service time at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Doylestown United Methodist Church.
