James Arthur Cotton

NORTON – James A. Cotton, age 38, passed away on July 13, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on September 11, 1982 in Elyria, OH, he was a resident of Norton since 2010 previously of Old Brooklyn near Cleveland.  Employed by CSA group, James was a member and elder at Emanuel United Church of Christ and was also an alumnus of the Triangle Fraternity.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Amanda; children, Avonlea and Felix; parents, Gary and Susan Cotton of Amherst, OH; father in-law, Frank Bennett of Fairview Park, OH; brothers, Tom (Kayla) Cotton of SC, Andy (Rachael) Cotton of Lorain, OH, Ed Cotton of TX; brother in-law, Adam (Kristi) Bennett of Fairview Park, OH; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.  James is preceded in death by his mother in-law, Patricia Bennett.

Funeral service following Covid-19 guidelines which includes social distancing and wearing masks, will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. at Emanuel United Church of Christ, 16 Eastern Rd., Doylestown, OH 44230 with Pastor Gaye Santoro officiating. Inurnment to take place at church cemetery at a later date.  Calling hours will be held from 4:30 p.m. until time of service on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family c/o Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N.
