MARSHALLVILLE – James W. Lemmon, age 87, passed away on September 13, 2018.
Born on February 9, 1931 in Barberton, he was a resident of Marshallville since 1947, previously of Barberton. Jim retired from Consolidated Freightways in 1994 as a truck driver with over 2 million accident free miles and had previously worked at Babcock & Wilcox for 16 years as a machinist. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Doylestown and was a life-long member of the NRA.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Willey-Anne; son, Guy Lemmon; infant daughter, Elizabeth Anne; sisters, Margarie (Don) Young and Carol Petit; brother, Wayne A. (Pat) Lemmon; he is survived by his special friend and companion, Laura Walter; sons, James (Sue) Lemmon and Roderick (Sandy) Lemmon; six grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother in-law, Robert Petit; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 65 W. Clinton Rd., Doylestown 44230 with Pastor Christopher Bartholomew, officiating. Burial to take place at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown and one hour prior to service time at the church.
