Janet "Jan" E. Wallace

BARBERTON – Janet “Jan” E. Wallace, age 77, passed away on October 27, 2024 with her family by her side.

Born on November 10, 1946 in Akron, OH to the late John R. and Josephine A. (Robertson) Urquhart, she was a life resident of Barberton.  A 1964 graduate of Barberton High School, she retired from Barberton Citizens Hospital after 27 years of service as a laboratory technologist. A past member of the Jeanette Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star, she was an advisor for the Rainbow Girls, Barberton Chapter, for many years.  Jan also attended Grace Church, Norton Campus.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, and caregiver for many years as she battled MS, Joseph Kenneth Wallace; sons, John (Dr. Julie) Wallace of Barberton, Jeff (Susan) Wallace of Stow; grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, and Chloe; other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH, 44230 with Pastor Robert Combs, officiating.  Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to MS Society, 6133 Rockside Rd.
