DOYLESTOWN - Jerell Allen Schoolcraft Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, at the age of 86, after a lifetime of touching lives with his kind heart and generous spirit.
Born in Spencer, West Virginia, on February 2, 1939, Jerry found joy in working with his hands and had a passion for mechanics. He retired from General Tire after 27 years of dedicated service, where his skill and diligence led him to specialize in tire building, automotive repair, and air conditioning work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Opie and Marie Schoolcraft; his son, Jeff; his granddaughter, Olivia; his son-in-law, David; his sister, Linda; and his great-grandson, Shawn.
Jerry was the beloved husband of Roberta (née Nunez), with whom he shared 64 loving years of marriage. He is survived by his children: Jerell Allen Schoolcraft Jr., Carrie (Fred) Burkhart, and Donna Acocello; his grandchildren: Kristen (Peter), Ryan (Breana), Drew, Caitlin (Hunter), Jace (Leah), Justin (Ashley), Brandon (Allison), Chase (Scott), Austin, Tabitha, Anthony, and Jarred; 15 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Carrol Gray.
Known for his patience, generosity, and helpful nature, Jerry was also an avid traveler. The many adventures he shared with his wife and children brought joy to their lives and created lasting memories. Together, they journeyed across the United States in the family motorhome and explored far-off destinations including Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Greece, and Rome.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 12 p.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage Street, Doylestown, OH 44230 with Pastor Rod Grabski, officiating. A private inurnment will take place at a later date. Calling hours will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made the Parkinsons Foundation.
