DOYLESTOWN – Joe Blanar, age 97, passed away on October 15, 2022.
Born on August 18, 1925 in Akron, OH to the late Steve and Mary (Sabo) Blanar, he was a resident of Doylestown since 1958. A veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Navy, Joe retired from LTV Steel, formerly Republic Steel in Massillon and was previously employed by the Akron and Barberton Belt Railroad. His passion being flea markets, he loved to go and set up his booth and spend time meeting people.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Meredith in 2003, brother, Edward (Francie) Blanar; sister, Dorothy Blanar, he is survived by his sons, Douglas Blanar (Kevin Stone) of Davie FL., David Blanar of Doylestown; brother, Daniel (Nancy) Blaner of Norton; other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH, 44230 with Pastor Rod Grabski, officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
