DOYLESTOWN – John C. Carpenter, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 31, 2025.
Born in Spencer, WV on July 5, 1946 to the late Lawrence "Pete" and Erline (Nichols) Carpenter. John served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and went on to work as a programmer at Babcock and Wilcox Co. where he retired after many years of service. A resident of Doylestown for the last 18 years, he had previously lived in Barberton. John loved to golf, however, spending time with his granddaughters is what he loved the most. John was truly meant to be a Papa.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Bettye; sister, Deloris Dyer; and sister-in-law, Patricia “Patsy” Carpenter. John is survived by his children, Scott (Terri) Carpenter of Akron and daughter, Jennifer (Jason) Borza of Wadsworth; grandchildren, Leah Carpenter, Maeghan (fiancé Drew Whitten), Madison, and Mia Borza; brothers, Gary (JoAnn) Carpenter and Richard Carpenter; sister, Brenda Briley; brother-in-law, Gary Dyer; many nieces and nephews.
