DOYLESTOWN – John S. Dakoski Jr., age 86, passed away on March 17, 2023. Born on April 18, 1936 in Cuyahoga Falls to the late John S. Sr. and Victoria (Snepko) Dakoski, he had been a lifelong resident of the Doylestown area.
John was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and later married the love of his life, Judith on August 1, 1959. A veteran of the US Navy, he worked for Babcock and Wilcox Co. and retired from Lockheed Martin as a Software Engineer after 14 years of service. John was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, where he served on church council for many years. The family wishes to thank Dr. Wenger and his team at Community Health Care, and the staff at Summa Hospice for caring for John in his last and most difficult months.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Judith Ann; sons, Luke, and John III; brother, Edward Dakoski; and sister, Dorothy Hopkins. He will be missed dearly by his children; Mark (Kelly), David , Victoria (Jorge), Judith Jr., and Jennifer; his grandchildren, Kayne Dakoski, Sarah Cannon, Samuel Cannon, Gregor Cannon, and Katherine Johnston; and great grandchildren, Kayne Jr., and Rayna Dakoski.
A memorial mass will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 161 W. Clinton St., Doylestown, OH, 44230 with Fr. Peter Morris, Celebrant. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree or plant in John’s honor.
