John E Gerwig

DOYLESTOWN – John E. Gerwig, age 84, passed away unexpectedly on October 12, 2022.

Born on August 12, 1938 in Ashland, OH to the late Clarence “Bud” and Ruth (Zoeller) Gerwig, John had been a resident of Doylestown since 1995. He served in the 82nd Airborne in the US Army, later retiring from the Independent Order of Foresters as a district manager. John was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. His greatest joy was spending time with family, but especially his grandchildren, Tyler, Kalie & Austin, and great-grandson, Owen.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Stephanie; brother, Clarence “George” (Maxine) Gerwig Jr.; and brother-in-law, Richard Goerndt. John is survived by his son, David (Cheri) Gerwig of Doylestown; grandsons, Tyler (Kalie) Gerwig of Virginia Beach and Austin Gerwig of Doylestown; great-grandson, Owen Gerwig; and sister Cynthia Goerndt of Wadsworth.
