BARBERTON – Joseph J. Andris, age 86, passed away on August 28, 2021 after a brief illness.
Born on January 24, 1935 in Barberton, OH to the late Frank J. and Anna Mary (Valasek) Andris, he was a graduate of Barberton High School and lifelong resident. Joe had worked at P.P.G. Co. for 39 years until its closing and then retired from Akron Recycle Energy Systems after many years. A veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Marines, he was a former member of SS. Cyril and Methodious Catholic Church and current member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Joe loved to read, do crossword puzzles, watch Jeopardy, and take walks.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Catherine; daughters, Joan (William) Culbertson of Barberton, Jacqueline (Matthew) Manning of Doylestown; grandchildren, Joshua, Justine, Jacob, and Alexandra Culbertson, Nicholas, Samuel and Mallory Manning; great grandson, Anthony; brother, Frank (Eleanor) Andris of Barberton; sister, Mary Ann (Gene) Pusen of GA; other family and friends.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Jackson, Celebrant. Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
