MARSHALLVILLE – Joseph W. Casto Jr., age 74, passed away on January 29, 2024.
Born on January 5, 1950 in Massillon to the late Joseph W. Sr. and Eileen A. (Conner) Casto, he had been a life resident of Marshallville. Joe graduated from Doylestown High School in 1969 and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War earning two bronze stars. He was a life member and retired from Operating Engineers Local #18 after 33 years of service. A member of the Doylestown American Legion Post #407, Joe enjoyed farming and spending time with his buddies.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene and John Casto; and brothers-in-law, Jack Carver and Don Lane. Joe is survived by his wife of 53 years, Francie; son, Joseph W. III (Stephanie) Casto of Marshallville; daughter, Jodi (Eric) Tincher of Wooster; grandchildren, Wyatt Tincher and Joseph W. Casto IV; sisters, Arlene “Nenie” Carver of Doylestown and Margaret Lane of Copley; brother, Donald Casto of Alabama; sister-in-law, Judy Casto of Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Calling hours will be Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH 44230. The funeral will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul Lintern officiating. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
