June M. Koontz

DALTON – June M. Koontz, age 89, passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2021 surrounded by her family.

Born on September 29, 1931 in Dalton, OH, to the late Walter and Mae Irene (Curie) Domer, she was a life resident.  June was owner and operator of June’s Beauty Shop for 59 years and loved spending time with her customers and friends. A member of East Chippewa Church of the Brethren, her passion was baking cookies for family, friends, and many local organizations.

Preceded in death by her husband, Jack in 1988; brothers, Donald, Robert, Ronald, and Roger Domer; sisters, Lola Faye, Alice Einsig, and Gloria Mishler, she is survived by her sons, Jeff (Debbie) Koontz, Jerry (Jane) Koontz all of Dalton, Jed (Rena) Koontz of Punta Gorda, FL; grandchildren, Justin (Nora), Jason (Stephanie), Alex, Adam (Alina), Brian (Rachael),Shannon Beckwith; great grandchildren, Olivia, Caleb, Bailey, Kallie, and expecting another great grandson due in June; brothers, Walter Jr. (Judy) Domer of Dalton, Neal Domer of Orrville; brother-in-law, George Mishler and sister-in-law Lela Horst both of Dalton; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 11 a.m. at East Chippewa Church of the Brethren, 7207 Chippewa Rd., Orrville, OH, 44667 with Pastor Brad Kelley, officiating.  Inurnment will take place in the church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr., Suite E, Uniontown, OH, 44685.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
