Karyl L. Vetter (Leaf)

MARIETTA, OH – Karyl L. Vetter (Leaf), age 81, passed away on March 24, 2026.

Born on January 29, 1945 in Wadsworth, OH to the late Donald and Marie (Purigraski) Leaf, she was a resident of Marietta since 2014 and had previously resided in Nebraska, Alaska, South Carolina and the Barberton / Doylestown area.  A graduate of Barberton High School and having attended Doylestown High School, she had retired from K-Mart after many years of service.  A member of the Marietta Church of God, Karyl has had many enjoyments over the years such as crocheting, seek and find puzzles, scrapbooking, reading, watching a good western, crime shows or anything that Chuck Norris was acting in.  She especially enjoyed studying the Bible and spending time with her friends in the ladies’ group at church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William; son, Mark; sister, Donna Houston; brothers, D. Richard Leaf, David (Sally) Leaf, she leaves behind her sons, Christopher (Paula) Vetter of Lower Salem, OH, Andrew (Cynthia) Vetter of Fayetteville, AR; grandchildren, Jared (Amber) Vetter, Arianna Vetter, Nichole (Noah) Bond, Stephanie Kasserman, Eric Kasserman, Amber Owens, Holly Owens; great grandchildren, Christian (Katrina) Bond, Grayson, Aiden, Camden, Pacey, Elijah, Kolton; great-great granddaughter, Raelynn; brother, John (Nancy) Leaf of Florida; sister-in-law, Becky Leaf-Schutt of WA; daughter-in-law, Alycia Vetter; granddaughter-in-law Stephanie Kasserman; many nieces, nephews, other family, faith family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 12 noon at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH, 44230 with Pastor Daniel Hess, officiating.  Calling hours will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Fragile X Foundation or Arkansas Miss Amazing organization.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
