Linda L. Kamenar

BARBERTON - Linda L. Kamenar, age 77, passed away on November 1, 2025.

Born on July 13, 1948 in Akron to the late Lewis and Bertha A. (Heffelfinger) Carpenter, she was a lifelong resident of the Barberton / Doylestown area. A 1966 graduate of Doylestown High School and a graduate of St. Thomas School of Nursing as an RN, she went on to retire from the Akron Children’s Medical Center after 31 years of service.  During her tenure, she worked in the post-anesthesia recovery area and the pre-surgical department at Akron Children's Hospital.  A member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Linda spent countless hours advocating for those she knew suffering from ovarian cancer, as she was a 20-year cancer survivor. The family is forever grateful to her co-workers at Akron Children's Hospital and her group of close friends, who supported Linda during her victorious cancer battle.

Linda was more than the foundation of her family- she was its heart, its laughter, and its steady comfort. Her love reached far beyond her home, touching everyone who had the privilege to know her. Her family will forever remember her joyful spirit at every gathering and the way she proudly sat beside her husband Jim, cheering on their grandchildren with boundless love and pride. Linda is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, James; children, Annette (Allen) Wesolowski of Wadsworth, Michael (Jennifer) Kamenar of Barberton, Julianna (Kevin) Coy of Dublin, OH; Her greatest joy in life was being Gar to grandchildren, Abigail, Maggie, James “Jimmy” Kamenar and Nana to Evann, Jacob, and Mia Coy; Linda was a devoted and loving sister to brother, Clair "Lew" Carpenter of Doylestown: and "bonus" grandma to her "bonus" grandchildren, Tyler and Logan Coy, Mark, Matt and Nick Wesolowski; Linda is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews along with other family members including loving cousins and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 11a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 161 W. Clinton St., Doylestown, OH, 44230, with Fr. Joe Robinson, Celebrant.  Burial will take place at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N.
