Lora J. Goman

DOYLESTOWN – Lora Jean Goman (nee Buchanan) passed away on December 28, 2024 at the age of 85.  She was born on July 3, 1939 in New Lexington, OH to the late Cecil Buchanan and Rose (Hankinson) Buchanan-Blazek.

A graduate from St. Aloysius Academy, Class of 1957, in New Lexington, OH she then obtained a Bachelor’s in Education from Ohio University.  Lora was a resident of Doylestown for over 50 years and was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Throughout her life, Lora was involved in numerous civic groups and church activities, including a Lioness with the Doylestown Lions Club, Altar Society and church choir at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic church to name a few.  Many knew her from the local library where she retired as manager of the Doylestown Branch of the Wayne County Public Library in 2006.

Preceded in death by her husband, Kent Goman, she is survived by her daughters, Lisa Goman, Kara (Brett) Goman Fargo; siblings, Lynne Buchanan, Bonnie (James) Thyer, James (Marta) Buchanan; and many other family and friends.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 161 W. Clinton St., Doylestown, OH with Fr. Peter Morris, Celebrant.  Burial with a graveside service will be held at a later date at New Lexington Cemetery in New Lexington, OH.  Calling hours will be on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N.
