Margaret L. McCall

CLINTON – Margaret L. McCall, age 76, passed away unexpectedly on January 4, 2026.

Born on September 22, 1949 in Barberton, OH to Robert and Jessie (Bates) McCall, she was a resident of Clinton, OH since 1976. A devoted mother to her only son, Robert, he later gave her the ability to cherish being a mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She always enjoyed working with him at the family drive-thru business.  Margaret had a true love for music with a special liking for the Beatles, beach and surf music, and later on in life country music.  This may have sparked her passion for dancing and later in life, line dancing.  She enjoyed spending time with friends as a member of the Sons of Herman in Akron, Massillon Eagles #190, and Akron Eagles #555.

Preceded in death by her father, Robert McCall and brother, Kenneth McCall, she leaves behind her son, Robert “Bob” (Sarah) McCall of Doylestown; grandchildren, Alexandria “Alex” (William) Townsend of UK, Gabrielle (Kayle) McCall of Parma Heights; great granddaughters, Charlotte and Emilia Townsend; mother, Jessie McCall of Clinton; brother, Charles McCall of Barberton; sisters, Liza (Walt) Demrovsky of Clinton, Flo Nagle of Barberton, forty year companion, friend and partner in crime, Robert “Bob” Hawthorne of Canal Fulton; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 10 a.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH, 44230 with Pastor Rod Grabski, officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron.  Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Epilepsy Foundation.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
