Mark E. Hamilton

Akron – Mark E. Hamilton, age 61, passed away on August 20, 2025 after a short-term battle with cancer.

Born on October 19, 1963 in Akron, OH, one of nine beloved children of the late Russell and Betty M. (Bushwack) Hamilton, he was a graduate of Kenmore High School.  A resident of Akron for three years, previously of Dalton, Mark was employed by the J.M. Smucker Co. for the past 6 years and was previously with Wooster Motor Ways for 25 years as a truck driver.  He was a beloved member and brother of New Hope Chapel Church of Christ in Massillon. A loving and dedicated son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Mark was an EMT / Volunteer Firefighter for the Dalton Fire Dept. for a number of years.  A lover of the outdoors, Mark had a passion for hiking and listening to his rock and roll music, especially Led Zepplin.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Kellie A.  He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Matthew Hamilton (Jeremy Watkins) of Massillon, Joshua (Sidney) Hamilton of Wooster, Nicholas Hamilton of Dalton; grandchildren, Oliver, Mark, Keaghan, Thackery, and Lilliegh; daughter-in-law, Ashley Frum of Akron; brothers and sisters, Marie (Dave) Septer, Alice (Tony) Stotler, Russell (Ginny) Hamilton, Teresa (Steve) Gross, Rose (Claus) Siebenhaar, Dan (Sandy) Hamilton, Cindy (Jason) Morrison, Kathy (Andy) Pea; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

He will be greatly missed and loved forever.  Goodbye our sweet dear Mark until we meet again in paradise there in Heaven.

The family wishes to thank the staff of both Summa Hospice and Ohio’s Hospice Lifecare for their compassionate care of Mark.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 5 p.m. at New Hope Chapel Church of Christ, 9460 Portage St., Massillon, OH, 44646 with Dr. Ken Morrison, officiating.  Calling hours will be from 3 p.m. until time of service.
