Mary E. Lucas

WOOSTER – Mary E. Lucas, age 70, passed away on June 14, 2025.

Born on July 28, 1954 to the late John J. Sr. and Amelia (O’Brien) Rohr, she was a resident of Wooster for 10 years, previously of Doylestown.  Mary retired as a social worker with Wayne County Child and Family services after many years.  A member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, she had a passion for cooking and loved spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Darrell F. Lucas and brothers, Joseph and David.  She leaves behind her boys, Daniel Hopkins of Doylestown, John (Cheryl) Hopkins of Doylestown, Christopher (Melanie) Hopkins of Coventry Township, Timothy (Kelly) Hopkins of Westfield Center, OH and Steven (Traci) Hopkins of New Franklin, OH; 16 grandchildren: Daniel, Shawn, Lillian, Isabella, Julia, Olivia, Sophia, Johnny, Cameron, Jenna, Morgan, Bernadette, Ryan, Luke, Matthew (Michele), and Jakob; one great great grandchild on the way; sisters, Martha Conrad, Sue (Bubby) Snow, Peggy (Dave) Pierce, Janet (Craig) Dignan, Betty (Lenny) Broome, Theresa (Jeff) Williams, and Amy (Jamie) Reef; brothers, John (Barb) Rohr, Paul (Sherry) Rohr, Ken Rohr, and Mark (Hope) Rohr; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June, 23, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 161 W. Clinton St., Doylestown, OH, 44230 with Fr. Peter Morris, officiating.  Burial to take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery following the Mass.  Calling hours will be Sunday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH, 44230.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to Wayne County Job and Family Services.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
