Michael J. Young

DOYLESTOWN – Michael J. Young, age 57, passed away on May 14, 2025 after a long-fought battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Born on June 23, 1967 in Akron, he was a resident of Doylestown for 30 years, previously of Manchester.  A graduate of Manchester High School and proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mike retired from IBEW Local #306 after having worked with J.W. Didado for many years.  A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and especially spending time on his boat at his favorite spot on Lake Chautauqua in New York.

Preceded in death by his father, James R. Young; step father, Jack Starr, he is survived by his wife of 29 years, Denise; daughters, Haleigh (Casey) Yonts of Doylestown, Sophia Young (fiancé Brian Roscoe) of Barberton; grandchildren, Liam, Oliver, and Evelyn; mother, Jacquelin Starr of Akron; mother and father-in-law, Debra and George Irwin of Doylestown; other family and friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Summa Hospice, Summa Oncology, and the Summa Infusion Center for their time and compassionate care of Mike.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N.
