Nancy C. Blacksten

DALTON – Nancy C. Blacksten, age 81, passed away unexpectedly on January 28, 2026.

Born on January 19, 1945 in Dalton, OH to the late Duane and Mabel (Boughman) Frantz, she was a life resident of the Dalton area. Retiring from Flex Technologies, Nancy was a devoted mother who spent countless hours with her children as a 4H advisor and member of Ponies of America Club.  She loved anything that had to do with horses and animals of any kind.  Spending time with her family and friends was important to her and she also enjoyed crafting and painting.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Michell R. Fields; son, Logan Blacksten; granddaughter, Mikayla; brothers, Larry (Jeannie) Frantz, William Frantz; sister, Margaret Shane; ex-husband, Gerald L. “Toad” Blacksten.  She is survived by her grandchildren, Shana Fields of Blakely, PA, David Fields, Candy “CC” Fields both of Massillon; brother, Glen (Barb) Frantz of Kidron; sister-in-law, Carol Frantz of Brewster; daughter-in-law, Connie Blacksten of Wooster; son-in-law, Buddy “Bud” Fields of Massillon; nieces, nephews, other family and friends; life long friend Pat Paul of Massillon.

A private graveside burial will take place at Union Cemetery of West Lebanon at the convenience of the family.  Memorials in honor of Nancy may be made to Guide Dogs for the Blind, P.O.
