DOYLESTOWN – Orman A. Shields, age 85, passed away on March 6, 2025.
Born on November 21, 1939 in Wallace, WV to the late Clyde A. and Wilma V. (Glover) Shields, he was a resident of Doylestown since 1957. Orman retired as a truck driver for the Akron Foundry after 35 years of service. A member of Free Will Baptist Church in Rittman, Orman had a self-taught passion for Ultralights. He had been personally building an ultralight for the past 30 years and unfortunately will never see it take to the air. He loved spending time with his family, especially watching sports with his late wife Laura.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Laura G.; son, Richard O. Shields; eight brothers and sisters. He is survived by his twin daughters, Teresa Stillman and Terry Daugherty of North Canton, OH; grandchildren, Shaun and Jeremy Smith, Rachael (Paul) Troutman, Matt Knapp; six great grandchildren; brother, Robert Shields of Akron; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
