Patricia Hopkins Obituary

DOYLESTOWN – Patricia A. Hopkins, age 79, passed away on March 30, 2021.

Born on January 29, 1942 in Barberton, OH to the late George F. and Alice Marie (Wilsterman) Campbell, a resident of Wadsworth for the last year she was previously of Doylestown for 49 years.  Pat was a 1960 graduate of Wadsworth High School and then a 1963 graduate of St. Thomas School of Nursing, where her true passion came to light.  After being an RN for 34 years, many years as a head nurse in the Oncology and Ambulatory Care Units, she retired from Barberton Citizens Hospital.  Her ability to give selflessly in both her private and professional life in combination with her love and compassion for anyone who’s life she touched, will be her legacy.  She will be sadly missed by her long-time nursing school graduate friends whom she traveled and vacationed with regularly, better known as the Ladies of Long Boat Key.  She touched many patients lives in her nursing career and continued serving others as a volunteer at Embrace Clinic and Care Center for which she advocated for nearly 20 years.  Pat was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church and its Altar Guild, and the Neocatechumenal Way and her deep faith was a cornerstone of her life. She belonged to KISS (Keep it Simple Sewers Quilting Guild) where she expanded her love of sewing and quilting. This went along with two of her favorite things, one being the collecting of fabric and craft projects that she was sure she “would get to someday” and two, participating in craft shows, especially the Rogues Hollow Festival in Doylestown, where she sold her Purses by Pat. Mostly, she was fiercely devoted to her family, loving, caring and humorous.

Preceded in death by her husband, Jerry in 2017; brother, Jim Campbell, she is survived by her daughter, Beth Mulhearn of Doylestown; cherished grandsons, Patrick and Daniel; son-in-law, Jim Mulhearn; brothers, Rich (Vicki) Campbell, Bob (Kaye) Campbell; sisters-in-law, Barb Campbell, Florence Scheid; brother-in-law, Roy Hopkins; beloved dog Elvis; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 4022 Johnson Rd., Norton, OH, 44203 with Fr.
