Rae was born April 13, 1941 in Parkersburg, WV to the late Paul and Edith Cox. She moved to Ravenswood, WV with her parents when her parents took over the management of the Ravenswood Novelty Works where marbles were produced and sold around the country. After graduation, she worked in Columbus, Ohio until her marriage to her high school sweetheart, Roger Weekley, on April 27, 1963. Rae enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, extended family and her many friends. She enjoyed gardening and canning fruits and vegetables, going to Florida for the winter and spending time with her Florida family of friends that she and Roger made over the years. She had a love for music and played the piano and was the organist for many years while attending Emanuel United Church of Christ in Doylestown.
Rae is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Roger Weekley; her three children, Michael (Amanda) Weekley of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Janice (Jeff) Hochstetler of Rittman, Ohio, and Marcia Pressler of Lancaster, Ohio; her brother, Chuck (Karen) Cox of Tega Cay, South Carolina; her sister in law Marge Flanigan of Ravenswood, West Virginia; her sister in law Elizabeth & Jake Reber of Jacksonville, Florida; 9 grandchildren (2 of which she is dancing with in Heaven), 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will forever hold a place in our hearts and will be dearly missed by all.
