NORTH LAWRENCE – Richard “Rick” L. Wolfe, age 72, passed away on January 31, 2022.
Born on April 12, 1949 in Canton, OH to the late Richard L. and Helen M. (Bahler) Wolfe, he was a resident of North Lawrence for 20 years, previously of the Canal Fulton area. Rick retired from The Babcock & Wilcox Co. in Copley with 42 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. He was a member of the former St. George Catholic Church and loved cars and all forms of racing, especially NHRA. He was the ultimate "gear head." He could strike up a conversation with a stranger in any store parking lot about a person's car. To him, the louder the engine the better.
He is survived by "his sweetie" and wife of 45 years, Katherine; daughter, Dr. Kristen Santelmann, AuD, whom he loved so much, proud of her accomplishments and her commitment to her young patients, and her husband, Bill, of Wadsworth; grandchildren, Oliver and Teddy; brother, Randy (Judy) Wolfe of New Franklin; canine companion, Rigley; other family and friends.
He always looked forward to meeting up with B&W friends at Angie's Round Table and third Wednesday Lunch at Samantha's.
Heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Andrew Higgins, nurses, and staff on J31 CCICU for their kindness and compassion. Memorials to a charity of one's choice or the Humane Society.
A committal service with military honors will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 10:45 a.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
