RITTMAN – Robert D. Hatfield, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on April 15, 2021.
Born on November 27, 1947 in Wadsworth, OH to the late Robert A. and Susie E. (Conkle) Hatfield, he was a life resident of the Easton/Rittman area. Bob retired from Morton Salt Co. with 43 years of service and was a veteran of the Ohio National Guard. A 1966 graduate of Doylestown High School, he was a member of the Easton United Methodist Church, the Orrville Farmers and Sportsman Club and was an Ohio Hunter Education Instructor for many years. Bob was also President of the Ohio Hunter Trapper Education Instructor Association, a member of Morton Salt Local Union #12081, and a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau. An avid outdoorsman, he loved farming, hunting and fishing.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eugene Hatfield; he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathy; daughter, Amy (Doug) Deeken of Doylestown; Roberta Hatfield (Bill Newcomb) of Canal Fulton; grandchildren, Joseph R. and Serenity K. Deekan; grand-dog, Rollins; brothers, William (Nancy) Hatfield of Nunica, MI, John (Dianna) Hatfield of Marshallville; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A private service will be held by the family with burial at Easton Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Easton United Methodist Church, 12448 Portage St., Rittman, OH 44270 or to Orrville Farmers and Sportsman Club, 18473 Shifferly Rd., North Lawrence, OH 44666.
