DALTON – Ronald L. “Ron” Ott, age 84, passed away on July 14, 2023 at his home surrounded by family.
Born on July 6, 1939 in Dalton, OH to the late Walter and Sylvia (Berg) Ott, he spent the majority of his life in the Dalton area. Ron retired from Roadway Express as a truck driver and member of the Teamsters after many years. An avid hunter and local groundhog killer, Ron was a self-proclaimed caretaker of the Dalton Sippo Valley Trail between Buckeye Feed and Deerfield Road for a number of years.
Preceded in death by his brother: James (Maxine) Ott; sisters, Marjorie (Leonard) Hall, Mary (Floyd) Marti; sister-in-law, Jenny Ott, he is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy; sons, Dennis R. Ott (Beth Lewis) of Burbank, Dean R. (Donna) Ott of Carrollton, OH; daughter, Tammy L. (Alan) Bickimer of Hendersonville, TN; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, Walter Jr. “Ottie” Ott of Dalton; other family and friends.
