Ronald K. "Kay" Dyer

DOYLESTOWN – Ronald K. “Kay” Dyer, age 86, passed away on May 27, 2026 surrounded by family.

He was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 1939 in Wooster, OH to the late Richard C. and Nona (Anderson) Dyer.  He came to Doylestown, as an only child, with his parents in 1943 from Shreve, OH and was a 1959 graduate of Doylestown High School.  Kay retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Doylestown as a letter carrier after 33 years of service and then went on to proudly mow the greens at Chippewa Golf Club for 30 years and retired again at the age of 85 from a job he truly enjoyed.  He was a volunteer fireman with the Chippewa Fire Dept. from which he retired after 20 years of service and was very involved in the creation of the Doylestown Homecoming event back in the day.  Kay was a member of the Sons of the American Legion at the Doylestown American Legion Post #407 and enjoyed golfing, gardening in his vegetable garden from which he loved to share what he grew with his family and friends, morel mushroom hunting, wood working, and was an avid puzzle builder during the winter months. Spending time with his family was special to him, he loved to watch his four grandchildren play baseball and softball over the years.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Diane; daughters, Denise Barresi of Idaho, Cindy (Todd) Belka of Barberton; grandchildren, Dillon (Negar) Barresi, Hannah Barresi, Joshua (Julianne) Belka, Justin Belka (fiancée, Emily Krosnick); great grandchildren, Theodora, Francis and Arlo; other family and many friends.

Calling hours to celebrate Kay will be held at a later date at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N.
