DOYLESTOWN – Rory Knicely, age 41, passed away suddenly on August 21, 2024.
Born on September 6, 1982, Rory was a proud 2001 graduate of Chippewa High School and a longtime resident of the Doylestown area. Rory lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with a fearless spirit. Those who knew and loved him recognized his passion for excitement and adventure, he was a true daredevil who never shied away from a good time. Rory’s remarkable understanding of mechanics and his knack for building and fixing things left those around him in awe. Throughout his life, he worked in various skilled trades, including as a diesel mechanic and mason, demonstrating his talent and dedication.
Rory’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends, riding his four-wheeler and Harley Davidson, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life in Wellsville. His sharp wit and sarcastic sense of humor endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rory was loved deeply and will be profoundly missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
Rory was preceded in death by his brother, Nicholas Knicely, and his grandfather, Edward Knicely. He is survived by his beloved children, Makayla (Andrew) Bertsch of Barberton, Lane Knicely of Wadsworth; father, Scott (Jody) Knicely of Doylestown; mother, Denise Letz (Jon Parker) of Copley; sister, Megan (Joseph) Husk of Doylestown; his cherished niece, Lillyan Husk; nephews, Tucker and Walker Husk, and Gavin Sehorn; grandmother, Zela Knicely of Doylestown; grandparents, Adam and Ruth Letz of Barberton; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Rory’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his legacy of love, laughter, and fearlessness will never be forgotten.
A private memorial gathering will be held by the family with an inurnment at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens at a later date.
