Roy A. Whited

ORRVILLE - Roy A. Whited, age 92, passed away on January 23, 2023.

Born on August 9, 1930 to the late Roy and Gladys (Farr) Whited in Bellevue, OH, Roy had been a resident of Orrville for over 50 years.  A veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Army, Roy was a truck driver for Wilson Trucking until 1992 when he started RA Whited Trucking in which he operated until his retirement at the age of 82.  He was a member of the Marshallville American Legion Post 718 and had a passion for John Deere Tractors.  Roy enjoyed spending time at the farm tractor pulls with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant son, Marc. Roy is survived by his children, Marilyn (Michael) Mirabella, Larry Whited, all of Jacksonville, FL, Kevin (Shawn) Whited of Orrville; grandchildren, Matthew (Whitney), Merrick (Crystal) Maribella, Larry, Glenn, Joe, Wesley (Sheree), and Chad (Kali) Whited; 12 great-grandchildren; other family and friends.

A memorial service to include military honors will be on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 29 E. Main St., Dalton, OH, 44618 with Fr. Ronald Turek, officiating.  Inurnment will take place at a later date in Sharon, PA.  Calling hours will be one hour prior to service time.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
