DOYLESTOWN – Ruth E. Adair, age 97, passed away on August 19, 2022.
Born on November 11, 1924 in Doylestown to the late John and Esther (Bauman) Birkbeck, she was a life resident graduating from Doylestown High School and working for the local schools retiring in 1993. After retirement, Ruth worked at Chippewa Golf Course. A life member of Zion Lutheran Church, she was also a member of the Literary Guild, Doylestown Senior Citizens, WELCA (Women Evangelical Church of America), and Christian Single Group. Ruth was very active enjoying traveling, square dancing, sewing, reading, playing cards, and gardening. She was a big fan of Cleveland Sports, always supporting the Cavaliers.
Preceded in death by her sister, Donna White; brother, Dale Birkbeck, she is survived by her daughters, Beth Ann (Gordon) Wooster of Wooster, Judy Symons of Akron; grandchildren, Megan (Ken) Trescott, Meredith (Brock) Alexander, and Elicia Majer; and great grandchildren Scarlett, Bryer, Bruin, Haley, and Nellie.
Her beautiful smile and the love for her family, faith, and friends will live on in our hearts forever. Mom, Grandma, and Pawmaw we love you and will miss you, but you are now home.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 65 W. Clinton St., Doylestown, OH, 44230 with Pastor Jane Mokren, officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
