WADSWORTH - Sara Alyce Spradlin Bohn departed her earthly life on May 30th, 2021.  She was born at home in the deep dark hills of Eastern KY in the coal camp of Millstone, on September 29, 1935 to the late William Howard Taft and Helen Maxine Lockard Spradlin.  Her family moved to Akron, Ohio when she was a young girl during the second world war.  She was the first in her family to graduate from college, earning a BS degree in Elementary Education followed by a Master’s Degree in Remedial Reading Education from The University of Akron.  She was united in marriage with her high school sweetheart Carl, who survives, on August 10, 1958.  She enjoyed a fulfilling career of teaching in the Copley-Fairlawn school system and was a dedicated Christian her entire life. In addition to Carl, she is survived by her sister, Karen (Jim) MacDonald; son, Robert (Barbara) Bohn; daughter, Sara Sharp; grandchildren, Grace (Patrick) Beargie, Thomas Bohn, Kaitlin Sharp (Tyler); great-grandson, Cedric Weith, and many nieces and nephews.  Her brother, Robert Spradlin predeceased her.  She is also survived by her sister-in law, Marion Spradlin, many teaching colleagues, tons of friends, and her extended church family who supported her and showered her and Carl with love and help in her time of need. Cremation has taken place, and per Sara's wishes, a private family inurnment was held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on July 10, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the Wadsworth United Methodist Church, 195 Broad St., Wadsworth, OH, 44281 with Pastor Don Ebert, officiating.  In lieu of flowers, Sara would appreciate donations to Wadsworth UMC, Marian’s Closet, project FISH, The Cleveland Clinic Akron General Justin T. Rogers Hospice or a charity of your choice. The family wishes to extend sincere love and gratitude to her caregivers at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital and Hospice who treated her with care, grace, and dignity during her final journey.  You guys rocked it!
