DOYLESTOWN – Sarah L. Smith, age 98, passed away on February 10, 2025.
Born in Doylestown on September 23, 1926 to the late Jerome and Frances (Dennis) Dannemiller, Sarah had been a life resident of Doylestown and graduated from Doylestown High School. She graduated from St. Thomas School of Nursing and worked at Ohio Box Board (PCA) as a company nurse and later retired from Dr. Roland Burrelli's office after working for him from1967 to 1990. Sarah was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and she, with her husband Robert, worked tirelessly in support of and with the Doylestown Lions Club.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. "Smitty" Smith; brothers Kenneth (Margaret), Howard "Barney" (Lillian), Francis (Glenna) and Joseph (Anna) Dannemiller. Sarah is survived by her children, Pamela L. Frazier of Alexandria, VA, Nina L. (Michael) Danik, and Jeff (Darlene) Smith, both of Doylestown; grandchildren, Jamie (Michael) Hodgkinson, Jenny Smith, Doug Smith, Katie (Chris) Barr, Kyle Danik, Drew Frazier, Sam Frazier; great grandchildren, Noah Lance, Maci Hodgkinson, Ella Hodgkinson, Baby Boy Barr, many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. The family would also like to give special thanks to Gail Bennett and the Apostolic Christian Home for the wonderful care they gave Sarah.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 161 W. Clinton St., Doylestown, OH, 44230 with Fr. Peter Morris, Celebrant. Interment will take place later that day at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH, 44230. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Robert and Sarah Smith Scholarship Fund or Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
