Scott Allen Lipscomb, 53, of Dalton, formerly of Massillon, stepped into eternity far too soon on Sunday morning, September 14, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born November 18, 1971, in Massillon, Ohio, Scott was a man whose presence left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He was a devoted husband, son, proud father and stepfather, loving grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and son-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Lipscomb; father-in-law, David Weber; maternal grandparents, William and Audrey Whitaker (“Mom and Poppy”); paternal grandparents, Delmas and Thelma Lipscomb; and great-nephew, Hunter Dean.
Scott’s memory will be carried on with love by his mother, Brenda Lipscomb; his devoted wife, Teresa “Terri” Lipscomb; his children, Audra (Kyle) Betivas, Brock Lipscomb, and Ian Smith; and his stepdaughter, Jessica (Daniel) McGrath. He was a proud grandfather to Blaize, Bentlee, Liam, and Grayson. He is also survived by his beloved little sister, Julie (Terry Clark); beloved aunt Trish Whitaker-Ross, uncle Robbie Whitaker; and many dearly loved nieces, nephews—who knew him affectionately as “Uncle Dot”—as well as cousins, friends, and a large extended family who will miss him every single day.
Scott lived a vibrant, passionate life filled with love and laughter.
A self-taught drummer with an undeniable passion for music, Scott played in many bands throughout his life. He found joy in four-wheeling, camping, riding his Harley, and fixing just about anything. His sharp wit, contagious humor, and steady strength made him someone people naturally gravitated toward.
A diehard Steelers fan, Scott cheered loudly and loved deeply. His presence could light up a room, and his absence leaves a space that can never be filled.
Scott’s life was a beautiful blend of strength, humor, love, and music. His memory will live on through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the legacy of love he leaves behind. He will be deeply and profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, leaving a lasting void in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life to commemorate Scott will be held at The Little Red Barn, 4255 Dalton Fox Lake Rd., North Lawrence, OH, 44666 on Sunday, September 21st, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Donations to help the family with funeral expenses can be made to the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH, 44230.
