Thomas “Tom” J. Kulka, age 89, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2022.
Born on July 7, 1932 to the late Stanley and Catherine (Swiander) Kulka, he was a life-long resident of Akron. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War before beginning his career with Firestone Tire, retiring after 42 years of service in the accounting department. Tom was an avid collector of many treasures and enjoyed the friends he made through collector clubs over the years. As the son of immigrants, Tom loved sharing his Polish heritage with his family and was known for making the best pierogies and golumpkis around. He was devoted to his Catholic faith, a faithful servant of the Lord, and attended mass regularly at St. Stanislaus in Cleveland.
Tom had a smile for everyone and the ability to make you feel welcomed and embraced everywhere he went. He was a generous man, pouring his time and treasure into those around him. He was a staple at every family gathering and proudly led every birthday celebration with Sto-Lat! His caring nature and love for life will continue to live on in those who loved him most.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Edward Kulka; sisters, Mary Eskridge, and Helen Hermann Limburg. He is survived by 10 nieces and nephews and their spouses, many many great and great-great nieces and nephews, and oh so many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 161 W. Clinton St., Doylestown, OH, 44230 with Fr. Peter Morris, Celebrant.
