DALTON- Virginia “Ginny” L. Wagner, age 94, passed away on November 3, 2021.
Born on January 11, 1927 in Akron, OH, to the late Herbert and Frances (Snowden) Higginbotham, she was a resident of Dalton for five years, previously of Manchester. Virginia retired from O’Neils in downtown Akron after many years. A member of Manchester Church of Christ, she was a Rosie the Riveter for Firestone during WWII, and her passion was cooking for her family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare for their loving care of Virginia in her final days.
Preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard McMullen; granddaughter, Heather Borntrager; brothers, Herbert, George “Bill”, and Ernest Higginbotham; step son-in-law, Brady Neeld; step grandaughter, Katy; sister in-law, Constance “Connie” (Robert) Patrick. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ray; daughter, Kathy (James) Borntrager of Navarre; son, Michael (Susan) McMullen of Dalton; daughter, Barbara (Dave) Kuch of Westerville, OH; 10 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; stepson, Kevin R. Wagner of New Smyrna Beach, FL; step daughter, Karin L. Neeld of Crystal River, FL; 2 step grandchildren; sister in-law, Phyllis King of New Rome, OH; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A private service will be held by the family with interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL, 33607. Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
