DOYLESTOWN – William C. Barnes, age 100, passed away on June 24, 2021.
Born on June 8, 1921 in Holmes County, OH to the late William L. and Edna (Mulhall) Barnes, he was a resident of Doylestown since 1947. Bill retired in 1982 from Ohio Injector with 31 years of service and was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. He was a member of the Doylestown United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sybil in 2018; brothers, Charles, Donald, Roy, Pete and Walter; he is survived by his daughters, Susan F. Wilk of Cuyahoga Falls, Patricia I. Strawbridge of Barberton; son, William (Monica) Barnes of Merritt Island, FL; granddaughters, Irene (Ryan) Cummins, Karen (Mike) Rozak; great grandchildren, Destany, Danielle, Michael and Ryan Cummins; great great-grandchildren, Lillian, Amelia, Matthew; brother, Wayne Barnes of Big Prairie, OH; many nieces and nephews; other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on August 29, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Doylestown United Methodist Church, 153 Church St., Doylestown with Pastor Carolyn Berry, officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Doylestown Health Care Center, 95 Black Dr., Doylestown, OH 44230 or to the Doylestown United Methodist Church.
