MASSILLON – William B. Crofut, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 13, 2025.
Born on September 2, 1935 in Navarre, OH to the late Richard and Audrey (Brown) Crofut, he had been a resident of Navarre, previously of the Massillon and Dalton areas. William retired from B.B.&S. Treated Lumber Co. of New England and was previously with the former Koppers Co. in Orrville. A member of Cornerstone Community Church, he was known as a jack of all trades who was a finish carpenter by trade. His true joy was camping and spending time outdoors with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Florence; sisters, Yvonne Cain and Grace Morris; great granddaughter, Zaya Crofut.
He is survived by his children, Billie Anderson of Orrville, Tabb (Pam) Crofut of Marshallville, Audrey (Chuck) Merkle of Dalton, and Eric (Kim) Crofut of Summerville, SC. William was also blessed with 9 grandchildren, Jeremy (Jen) Phillips, Corey (Julie) Phillips, Justin (Charity) Phillips, Zebb (Jasmine) Crofut, April (Ricky) Aspiras, Jordan (Nicholette) Crofut, Coleman (Katie) Jackson, Trent (Taylor) Crofut, Erika Carlyle and 16 great grandchildren; other family and friends.
The family will hold a private graveside service at Dalton Cemetery.
