William H. Shirey Sr.

BARBERTON – William H. “Bill” Shirey, age 77, passed away on November 26, 2022.

Born on July 28, 1945 in Akron, OH to the late Paul E. and Bessie M. (Durr) Shirey, he was a life resident of the Doylestown / Barberton area.  Bill retired from the City of Barberton, traffic signal division, after 29 years of service.  A member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, he enjoyed spending time riding his motorcycle.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis in 2017; brothers, Chuck Shirey, and Ernie Shirey.  Bill is survived by his children, Debra Ramsey (Jeff Vittori), Mishelle Walsh; grandchildren, Nicole Neal (Josh Neal), Lauren Ramsey, Justin and Payton Walsh; great granddaughter, Marley Ramsey; brother, Edward (Marie) Shirey; sister, Martha Walker; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral service will be on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 6 p.m. at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, 3819 Johnson Rd., Norton, OH, 44203 with Pastor Cecil Farmer, officiating.  Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. until time of service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
