William "Bill" H. Fisher

DALTON – William Harrison “Bill” Fisher, age 85, passed away on August 17, 2019 at Country Lawn Center, Navarre, Ohio.

Bill was born on May 26, 1934 to the late Clayton and Dollie (Gillespie) Fisher.  He retired from Republic Steel after 32 years of service and was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Dalton.  Bill loved nature and was an avid hunter, fisherman and master gardener.  He enjoyed talking for hours about his deer hunting trips to several states; fishing on Lake Erie with his friends and was always happy to share produce from his beautiful garden. One special hunting trip was to Newfoundland to hunt moose with friends.

Surviving are his daughter, Dania Stangelo of Navarre; three grandchildren, Tonya Parker, Danny Fouts and Andy Stangelo and seven great grandchildren.  Also surviving are seven sisters, Linda (Dave) Sword, Dalton, JoAnn, Roberta, Bernice, Betty, Reta, Susan, and one brother, Dale, all out of state; numerous nieces and nephews.  Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Nussbaum Fisher on February 23, 2019; brothers, James and Lloyd; sisters, Donna and Judy.

The family would like to thank the staff of “Speret Hall” for their loving care and kindness.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 12 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 29 E. Main St., Dalton.
