I am so sorry to learn of Laura's passing. I once organized a "have lunch with a celebrity" auction to benefit a local library when she was at WFMJ in Youngstown. She showed up with a broken ankle when it would have been so easy for her to have cancelled out. Needless to say, she was a huge hit and I will always remember how kind she was. My sincere condolences to the family.

I worked with Laura at the old WAKC TV in Akron. Some of my fondest memories are driving aournd with her covering stories - she was witty and funny.

Laura was my secret Santa one year, gave me a party game with the intent to get together with our families and co-workers. I really regret not making that happen.

Sadly, I cannot attend the calling hours as I am filling in for someone who also lost a family member. I hope these words help her family find some comfort.

Laura started with Nielsen in 2007 and was a huge part of the success of the Cleveland market. She was decorated as a Circle of Excellence winner for outstanding performance. I will always remember the time she brought in a special cake that she had baked to look like a TV for the team. "Lady Steele" will be missed by many.

I am so very, very sorry to hear of Laura's passing. I still see her as a little girl that used to come over to the house, playing in Aunt Nat's pool, and when I babysat her. I'm sad to never have had the opportunity to know her as an adult. Please, know that you all are in my heart and prayers. May the memories of her help you through this difficult time and beyond.
