Paula, Peter, Chris and family,
I remember your mother from so many things, church, delivering your paper, when Mallory's would be in town, and at the nursing home--always with a warm smile. Mom always talked about your mom and the projects she had going. And she never talked about her own braided rugs without mentioning that "Helen Marshall taught me how to braid."
I'm sorry I didn't hear of her passing until last week.
Best,
Jay

Helen was certainly ahead of her time. She touched so many lives as a teacher, as an opinionated woman and I'm sure as the Matriarch of her large family. She was a fountain of knowledge and whenever our mutual friend and fellow art teacher, John Caranci or I had a question, on glassware or porcelains we always knew Helen would know. John's been gone nearly 23 years, so I hope they are catching up now. My sympathies to the family on their loss, but with a reminder of their good fortune at having Helen as a mother.
