NORTON - Ida J. Hopkins, age 75, passed away on August 16, 2016. Born on October 18, 1940 in Barberton to the late Iris and Amy Mae (Smith) Taylor, she was a life resident of the Barberton/Norton area. Ida was a retired nurse who worked with various home health care companies. She was a member of the Salvation Army in Barberton where she enjoyed working to fill the Christmas packages. Ida was an avid flower gardener who loved to fish and camp. Preceded in death by 8 of her siblings, she is survived by her husband of 26 years, Daniel; step sons, Daniel (Amy) of Norton, John (Cheryl) of Rittman, Chris (Jamie) of Norton, Tim (Kelly) of CA, Steven (Tracy) of Norton; 17 step grandchildren; brother, Frank Taylor of Wadsworth; sister, Alba Ramsey of Danville, VA.; other family and friends. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, 44230, with Pastor Robert Webb, officiating. Private burial at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
